Spoilers and news for General Hospital tease Bradford Anderson’s Damian Spinelli will shortly start a new assignment. He might be the final piece that Sam McCall and Cody Bell (Kelly Monaco and Josh Kelly) need to bust Bonnie Burroughs’ Gladys Corbin.
Cody Bell Knows Gladys Corbin’s Scandalous Secret
Cody knows Gladys’ scandalous secret, the one that she framed him for stealing a diamond bracelet at the Nurses’ Ball to keep him from telling. Gladys has been gambling away money like a sieve, and now she’s started in on Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) funds after selling Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) garage. He’d threatened Gladys with telling Sasha what is really going on, and indeed he tried, but Sasha couldn’t believe it and got mad at him.
General Hospital spoilers show Sam helped him get out of jail when he was arrested for the theft, but now they have to find proof that Sasha’s funds are being siphoned by Gladys. That’s going to take the extreme cybersleuthing skills of Spinelli, especially now that Sasha wants to discontinue her guardianship.
Damian Spinelli’s Got His Work Cut Out For Him
It would have been nice if there were surveillance tapes from the Nurses’ Ball that could Gladys slipped the bracelet in Cody’s suit coat pocket while he was dancing on stage. But this was also when Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) goons disabled the security cameras so he could have Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) kidnapped.
Although nothing that occurred behind the scenes or underneath the stage would have been recorded, Spinelli will still make an effort, hacking in if necessary to see if there was anything. Given Cody and Spinelli’s troubled past, it could seem uncomfortable to use Spinelli to support Cody’s case and link Gladys to her financial crime. To be completely honest, Spinelli needs some honest job—well, semi-honest work if he has to hack—because Cody and Sam need his talents.
Time Is Of The Essence
Gladys won’t likely assert that the evidence Sam and Cody obtain cannot be used against her in court, so she doesn’t even need to know if it can. They only need to present it to her and use it as leverage; if that fails, they can take it to Sasha, who will file a complaint. This leverage will include getting Gladys to confess that she framed Cody, which will also be recorded—possibly, Spinelli has set up some bugs to record Gladys.
Bugging Gladys’ cell phone or anywhere else, perhaps multiple places will probably be something Spinelli may have suggested as a backup. If she doesn’t think Sasha’s bank account will tell the tale on her, they’ll use what’s recorded on the bugs to trap her like a rat!
