Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Stefan and Gabi get on the same page (maybe), Melinda and Li manage to have a grand ole time with one another, Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) makes a nuisance of himself, and Xander (Paul Telfer) and Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) enjoy each other’s company. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.

Days of our Lives Recap: Better To Give
Having just suffered through yet another awkward as-all-get-out run-in with Xander, Bonnie (Judi Evans) groused to Justin (Wally Kurth) that she wasn’t sure how much longer she could keep Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) confidence.

Also, what help was Justin? He literally just stood there and said nothing! Where was the backup? No sooner had Justin preened that the best way for one to keep a secret was to keep one’s mouth shut than Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) appeared and wondered what the secret was that Justin was keeping.

Bonnie and Justin tried to hedge. And they hemmed and they hawed. And they also assured a concerned Maggie that Justin wasn’t at all upset with her over Alex’s upping sticks and leaving the family home.

Bonnie finally blubbered that the secret did involve Sarah. But rather than rat out the woman’s pregnancy, Bonnie insisted that the secret concerned Sarah reuniting with Rex (Kyle Lowder). Maggie wasn’t exactly thrilled by the “news,” nor was Sarah when apprised that she better tell the same lie.

DAYS Recap: A New Hope
At the DiMera manse, Stefan (Brandon Barash) informed Gabi (Camila Banus) that he’d gotten her an early anniversary gift — and it wasn’t something that she could open. Instead, it was the news that he and EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) had brokered a truce. Gabi couldn’t have been more thrilled, especially now that they all had an enemy in common, namely Dimitri (Peter Porte).

Less thrilling for Stefan was learning that Gabi had gone to see — and pulled a gun on — Li. What if Li had gotten a hold of the gun? What if Li had gotten a hold of the gun and used it on her? What in the world was Gabi thinking?

Well, aside from the fact that Li doesn’t have the “cajónes” to do something like that to her, Gabi wasn’t thinking. She readily admitted that. And as to Stefan’s question about whether or not the gun was loaded, “What good is a gun with no bullets in it?”

Gabi then relayed that Li was on a date as they spoke, so maybe he’d meet Mrs. Right, and he’d cease obsessing over her. Wouldn’t it be grand not to have to worry about him coming after them ever again? Yes, yes it would.

But, Stefan still had something to complain about. He wants, nay demands, that Gabi stop putting herself in danger. What she needs to do, from now, is put the both of them in danger, because they’re a team. Agreed? Agreed!

Opposite this, Li (Remington Hoffman) and Melinda (Tina Huang) reeled upon realizing that matchmaker Cheryl Angel — who guarantees you “a match made in Heaven — paired them up on the “blind date from Hell.”

But it’s not as though they have NOTHING in common. As Li pointedly pointed out, “In the train wreck known as the affair between my ex-wife and Stefan DiMera, you and I are both collateral damage.” Melinda couldn’t help but agree-ish. The biggest difference? She’d very quickly gotten over her little crush on Stefan, and Li’s a psychopath still obsessed with Gabi.

Still, Melinda agreed to join Li in toasting to ‘Stabi’ and wishing them all the misery that they so richly deserve. A perusal of the wine’s label — Love Lost Chardonnay — led Melinda to share a story from her young adulthood about biking through the Napa Valley. Li very much appreciated what he heard.

DOOL Recap: Love Shack
Despite desiring little more than a romantic evening for two, Stephanie (Abigail Kelin) and Chad (Billy Flynn) were stymied by the arrival of needful and barely dressed Alex. He needed a hot shower, desperately, and Stephanie agreed. Afterward, he needed some nourishment, and Stephanie and Chad bid him to stay. Eventually, and it was a long time in coming, Stephanie and Chad got their alone time. Worth it!

Meanwhile, Xander presented Chloe with an anniversary present: their very own, pub-quality dart board. Can Chloe believe that it’s been exactly three months since she buried a dart worryingly close to Xander’s heart? No, no she cannot. She is sorry about that though…but Xander’s not. ‘Twas like being struck by Cupid’s arrow. Awwww!

The two bet massages on the outcome of the game — she wants a shoulder one, he wants his feet seen too — and Chloe emerged victorious. Xander also came out a winner given the hankey pankey the two get up to almost immediately afterwards.
