According to DOOL teasers, Dimitri kept Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) prisoner. Dimitri was defeated when Kate was saved by Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), Harris Michaels (Steve Burton), and Steve “Patch” Johnson (Stephen Nichols). But at that point, Dimitri revealed a covert second captive.
The news that Andrew Donovan (Colton Little) was missing quickly circulated back in Salem. Andrew may be Dimitri’s second hostage, it is joked. Two extreme demands were made by Dimitri. The first was Megan’s release, and the second was immunity.
As it turns out, Kate was never supposed to be the captive. Leverage and diversion were always key factors.

Dimitri might not even be a true villain, despite Kristen’s potential salvation. Perhaps Megan lied to Dimitri to enlist his assistance. In relation to Dimitri, Porte stated to Soap Opera Digest,
“Taking this incredibly hostile, broken, hardened guy and making him really vocal about how he is feeling is the fun thing I’ve experienced over this. Although he is still damaged, he has a good heart and is only learning how to use it.
Porte also suggested that Kate wasn’t taken by Dimitri for selfish purposes. Dimitri did it to support Megan, a person who is dear to him. But it might get explosive if Dimitri finds out Megan lied to obtain his assistance.
Could Dimitri and Kristen ultimately team up to defeat Megan? Even though Megan might be too evil for the villain, Kristen will always be a terrible girl.
